Remember the movie, “Planes, Trains and Automobiles” with Steve Martin
and John Candy? Well, on Monday the 23rd for us it
was “Boats, Buses and Trains”, because we traveled on all three.
We enjoyed our breakfast at the Fretheim Hotel, did a little
correspondence, and checked out of our room.
We had a few hours before our cruise was to begin, so we took another
walking tour of the village of Flam. Most
of what we saw centered around the agriculture and lifestyle of Flam, both of which were
of much interest to us.

Aurlandsfjord at Flam |
We boarded our cruise vessel at Flam and disembarked at
Gudvangen two hours later. If you ever
have a chance to cruise on the waters of a Norwegian fjord we urge you to take
it! Around each bend awaited scenery
even more beautiful than what we had just seen.
The following pictures will only offer an inadequate impression of the magnificence
of this part of creation. We give all
glory to God for who He is and for what He has done, both in creation and also in authoring the plan of our salvation through Jesus Christ His Son.

In Gudvangen we boarded a bus to take us to Voss, an hour
distant. Once again, the scenery along
the way was arresting, and I caught the following images in spite of my
distaste for photographing from a moving vehicle.

Still frozen, but no skaters on April 23. |
We had the pleasure of taking the train from Voss to Bergen with a
British couple and their Australian companion.
They were delightful people. Once
in Bergen we made our way to our hotel, and went out for a quick pizza.

We had time for tea and coffee while waiting for the train in Voss. |
