Copenhagen to Haiger, Germany

We traveled for over eleven hours today, from Copenhagen down through Denmark (beautiful green rolling farm country), across the Baltic Sea on a 45 minute ferry ride, and southward into Germany.  Spring is in full bloom here in Germany, with the greenest green pastures and yellowest yellow fields of canola (oil used in vehicle fuel formulations).  Much more to say about Germany later.  It is a perfectly beautiful part of God's creation.

We had our first experience driving on the Autobahn, and it's true - you'd better not be caught dawdling along at 80 in the left lane or you'll get run over!  We also watched the odometer on the Volvo XC90 roll over from 999 to 1,000 miles somewhere north of here in Germany.  We sure are enjoying it!

We also plan to do a posting on "Copenhagen II - Tivoli Gardens".  Too much to say about that now (12:15 a.m. Saturday), but James Taylor was, well, James Taylor!  If you like him you know what that means.

We arrived safely at the warm home of Botho and Gisela Heinz, our host and hostess for the coming week, where we were treated royally, including a superb dinner followed by a showing of the film "Luther" to prepare us for what we will see tomorrow.  Botho and Gisela, we thank you for your fine hospitality!

We'll post when we can - we plan to be in Eisenach tomorrow, then Berlin for two more nights.
